The brief was to replace a Post Office Stores housed in a 'temporary' wooden building, and provide additional cold store, mini-bakery, customer toilets and mezzanine office. The brief has been further developed with the client to provide a comprehensive and economical design.
Distinct workflow routes are provided for shoppers, retail staff and stock, and Royal Mail.
The ground floor has minimal penetrations, for security, combined with first floor natural lighting for the retail space.
